How about some additional door security?

Having problems locking your UPVC or Composite Door?

Can’t get it locked without forcing the handles up?

Most UPVC and Composite doors that are difficult to lock can be easily fixed which some minor adjustments. Unfortunately, if you don’t get it adjusted the pressure on the handles will sooner rather than later break the mechanism leaving your door inoperable.

Getting you door adjusted now before it breaks it will save you a more costly repair. Photos Left show an example of how a customer in Taylor Green, Livingston EH54, left it too late and had to get a new GU multipoint Locking System Fitted/

The common signs of Wear and Tear

• You need to use force to get the handles fully up to activate the Bolts

• The latch doesn’t catch when closing door

• The Key won’t come out when locked

• The door hangs and needs to been lifted and slammed to close

• My outside handles and lock are worn caused by the weather

• My letterbox has broken off

Flopping Handles are sure sign that something has broken in the Spindle section of the GU Multipoint locking mechanism.
Pentland Locksmiths removed the GU Locking mechanism and fitted a new unit, cylinder and cut 6 extra keys for our customer.
