Locks for the Elderly and Disabled
Lock manufacturers are becoming more aware of the needs of the Elderly and Disabled who may not be able to reach and open older type locks. There are a number of new products that are available to assist in opening and to make access easier if the house owners are unable to open that door and require home helps from their local authority. As a Member of the Institute of Certified locksmiths (ICL), Pentland Locksmiths Services have been Police Vetted and can be trusted to deal with the public who may vulnerable. If you need to check our status then please click on the ICL logo at the top of the page and go to their ‘Find a Locksmith’ page where you will find our details.
New Union Nightlatch
Specifically designed for the elderly and disabled it has rubber coated handles and keys that make it easier to open. They all have a bright colour to aid anyone with with eyesight problems.

Master Key Safe
A popular keysafe with local authorities who require their care workers to gain access and various times of the day that tend to the elderly. The Master is a 4 digit keysafe that can easily be changed if required
Euro Lockcase and Thumbturn Cylinder
This is an excellent alternative to standard locks that are double sided. Using a Thumbturn cylinder prevents the home owner from leaving keys in the door and stopping persons on the outside with a key getting in.
Keysafe
Another robust keysafe that will allow access to a key when required but strong enough to deter anyone from trying to open the safe by force. It has 10 digits that can be easily change when required
