Do you have an old Aluminium door with a failed door lock?

Have you called the company that fitted the door, but they would rather sell you a new one instead of repairing your existing door?

Pentland Locksmiths Livingston have made it a priority to try and repair any old Double Glazed or Aluminium doors and prevent our customers having the burden of paying huge sums of money to have a new door fitted when its not needed.

Older doors where fitted with locks that are no longer manufactured, but in most cases there will be an alternative that will work just fine. So don’t let the big companies badger you into buying a new door without checking first if your door can be repaired.

So before you sign on the dotted line to some pushy salesman give us a call and we will be happy to take a look at your door and offer you the best course of action.

Here’s an example from a house in Fergus Ave, Livingston, EH54 of an old Aluminium door where the parts are now obsolete. We have stripped the door down, cleaned it out and fitted a new lock case.

Stage 1

You can see that the lock is badly damaged. We removed the door, removed the handles and cylinder and then the broken lock case.

Stage 2

All the parts have now been removed and we will clean out the door and remove any excess metal and dirt.

Stage 3

With the new lock fitted, we refit the existing handles and cylinder and fully test the lock system to ensure its working as it should be.

Stage 4

The door has now been cleaned, tested and is locking perfectly. Once our customer has tested the door themselves and are happy we will sign it off as job complete.
